Dr. Stephen Vogel, MD
Family Medicine
Dr. Stephen Vogel found his calling at 3:00 AM in a dark ICU room. At the time, during his first year in General Surgery training, a late-night conversation helping a family navigate the fear of an emergency procedure confirmed his true passion wasn't even about fixing a problem. It was the communication, the empathy, and the act of being in a patient’s corner during their most vulnerable moments that he felt called to follow. As a Family Medicine physician, Dr. Vogel views himself as a "roadmap" for his patients. Whether he is treating a newborn or helping a senior manage a chronic condition, he focuses on evidence-based medicine while valuing the individual's unique concerns. He holds special interest in treating mental health and breaking down the stigmas surrounding it. He help his patients understand the strength of the mind-body connection and how emotions directly affect physical symptoms and vice versa.Dr. Vogel loves the efficiency and ease of virtual care because it allows him to get straight to the heart of what his patients need, whether that is direct treatment or helping patients navigate the system. Virtual care allows him to provide access to care for people who would otherwise wait months in a traditional practice.Dr. Vogel is a believer in trying to "finding the flow," whether that’s while mountain biking, traveling in a camper van with his wife, or doing nothing at all. A lover of the culinary arts, he finds peace in the focused task of prepping a meal without a recipe. In the last few year, grief and loss in his life has led Dr. Vogel to seek new teachings, and he is currently reading Comfortable with Uncertainty by Pema Chödrön
and Buddha's Brain by Dr. Rick Hanson. He and his wife are the proud parents of Koda, a lab/spaniel mix who they gladly spoil.Dr. Vogel wants his patients to feel heard, validated, and supported.
